Man nabbed for threatening student with knife

A jobless man was arrested on Sunday morning after he allegedly threatened a student with a knife in Caloocan City.
Jonesto Yuzon, 46, a resident of Malabon City, now faces charges of alarm and scandal, and grave threats.
He will also be slapped with a complaint of violating the election gun ban which prohibits the carrying of firearms and deadly weapons between Jan. 13 and June 12.
According to the police, the victim, Mar delos Santos, 20, was with his cousin on M. de Castro Street, Bagong Barrio, at 11:30 p.m. Saturday when Yuzon, whom he claimed he did not know, approached them.
Delos Santos told the police that the suspect, who was holding a pair of scissors, swore at him and challenged him to a fight.
“Son of *****, do you want me to kill you now?” Yuzon allegedly screamed at him several times.
The victim said that he ran to the barangay hall where watchmen Franklin Felices and Edgar Quintos were on duty to ask for help.
A police report said the watchmen “responded to the situation which resulted in the apprehension of aforementioned suspect.”
Barangay officials later turned over the suspect to the police.
The police were still trying to determine why he was angry at the victim.
