7:30 p.m. — Ceres vs
Yangon United

Ceres-Negros looks to hurdle the first obstacle of its ambitious AFC Champions League bid as it battles Myanmar’s Yangon United in tonight’s first preliminary stage at the Panaad Stadium in Bacolod City.

The Busmen enter the 7:30 p.m. match favored to continue their dominance over Yangon, which the two-time Philippines Football League champions have beaten in the last year’s ASEAN Zonal semifinals of the AFC Cup.

But Ceres wants to make sure that it would capitalize on its psychological edge and advance into the second preliminary stage next week against Chiangrai United in Thailand.

Defeat, however, will put the Busmen back in the AFC Cup where they are already bracketed in Group G along with Vietnam’s Becamex Binh Duong, Indonesia’s Persija Jakarta and Myanmar’s Shan United.

Serbian coach Risko Vidakovic goes into the match still having his core players composed of Spanish striker Bienvenido Maranon, compatriot Super Herrera and Azkals midfielder Stephan Schrock.
