MANILA, Philippines — The P3.757 national budget for 2019 would be “pork-free,” Malacañang said on Friday, as Congress is set to pass the budget this afternoon after months of delay.

In a Palace briefing, Cabinet Secretary Karlo Nograles said President Rodrigo Duterte “will go through each and every item” of the budget to remove any irregularity.

Will it be “pork-free?” Nograles briefly replied, “Yes.”

“If anything irregular, the President knows what to do,” he added.
