A DRUG suspect was killed in a shootout with anti-narcotics operatives during a buy-bust operation in Muntinlupa City shortly after midnight Sunday.

Police said the suspect, identified only as alias “Nog-Nog”, died on the spot from two gunshot wounds in the chest.

Investigation showed that members of the Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) of the Muntinlupa City Police conducted a drug sting at around 12:35 a.m. at PNR Site 7-C, Alabang, Muntinlupa City.
Police said an undercover police officer successfully purchased one sachet of shabu worth P500 from the suspect.

During the transaction, the suspect sensed that he was transacting with a police officer, prompting him to pull out a .38-caliber revolver from his waist and shot but missed the undercover cop.

Police operatives in the area immediately retaliated, leading to the suspect’s death.

Authorities recovered the suspect’s firearm with four pieces of live ammunition, one fired cartridge, and a coin purse containing five sachets of shabu.

The suspect’s body was moved to the Our Lady of Loreto Funeral Homes in Lower Bicutan, Taguig City, for autopsy. (Dhel Nazario)
