Sara slams Hontiveros: Stop criticizing, think of solutions to measles outbreak

DIGOS CITY – Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte – Carpio turned the tables on Sen. Risa Hontiveros, who instead of offering solutions to the measles outbreak and the vaccination scare, is mrerely demanding the resignation of Public Attorney’s Office chief Persida Acosta.
“Ikaw dapat mag-resign dahil wala ka (na)ng sinabi na tama. Lahat sablay. PAO Chief Acosta is doing her job in assisting indigent litigants who want to sue. Dengvaxia eroded the parents’ confidence in vaccines and you can easily verify this if you talk to the people in barangays instead of putting your head inside your behind all the time.
(You are the one who should resign, you cannot say anything right. Acosta is just doing her job.)
“Dengvaxia killed innocent individuals, bakit wala ka human rights angle dito? Paano masolutionan ang outbreak sa pagpapa-resign ke Atty Acosta? Mag isip po tayo ng solution, hindi opposition para lang may masabi. Kapag gusto natin magsalita pagisipan muna para hindi nakakahiya.” Duterte-Carpio said in a social media post.
(Why can’t she cite a human rights angle in this case? How can we solve the nmeasles outbreak by demanding the resignation of Atty. Acosta? Let us think of solutions, and not just oppose things just to be able to say something. If we want to talk, let us think first.)
Hontiveros on Friday called on Acosta to step down as parts of the country grapple with a measles outbreak.
Acosta, who has become the face of those allegedly affected by the controversial Dengvaxia dengue vaccine, has been blamed for eroding the public’s trust in the government’s vaccination program. /gsg
