SAN PEDRO CITY — A fire broke out at a residential community in this city on Thursday evening.

Supt. Giovannie Martinez, city police chief, said the fire started around 7 p.m. in Sitio (sub-village) Masayahin, Barangay (Village) San Antonio.

The fire was raised to second alarm as firefighters struggled to put out the blaze.

“Affected (houses) were made of light materials,” Martinez said in a text message, although he said they still could not determine the number of homes razed.
