2 NPA killed in Masbate, Misamis Oriental clashes

Two New People’s Army rebels were killed in two separate encounters with government troops in Masbate and Misamis Occidental on Sunday and Monday.
A report from the Armed Forces of the Philippines-Southern Luzon Command said an NPA rebel was killed in an encounter in Barangay San Antonio, Milagros, Masbate at about 6:30 a.m. Sunday.
More than a day later, an NPA rebel was also killed in an encounter in Barangay San Pedro, Aloran, Misamis Occidental at around 9:40 a.m.
Troops seized M14 and M653 rifles, two improvised explosive devices, and enemy documents in the Masbate clash.
On the other hand, troops in Misamis Occidental scoured the scene of encounter and retrieved an AK-47 rifle, three magazines, and subversive documents with high intelligence value. (Francis Wakefield)
