2 Japanese nationals hurt in Quezon road mishap

LUCENA CITY — Two Japanese nationals were injured after a passenger bus bumped their vehicle along the Maharlika Highway in Pagbilao town in Quezon province early Wednesday.

The police report said while Koichi Tsutsui, 56, was driving a Toyota Hi-Ace Commuter van with Shunichi Takashi, 55, as a passenger, a Manila-bound P&O passenger bus accidentally hit the right front portion of the van while negotiating the highway in Barangay Talipan around 1 a.m.

Rescuers rushed the victims, who suffered injuries in different parts of the body, to the MMG Hospital in nearby Lucena City.

The bus driver, Edwin Ondevilla, was detained at the Pagbilao police jail. Delfin T. Mallari Jr. /lzb
