The Manila Times College of Subic (TMTCS) holds a groundbreaking ceremony for its new site, where the former George Dewey High School (GDHS) stands, inside the Subic Bay Freeport Zone. Taking part in the symbolic groundbreaking rites on Thursday, February 28, are (from left) Barbara Napiere-Celis, vice president (VP), External Affairs; Jennifer Jones, assistant station manager, TMTTV; Menchie Bacani, registrar, TMTCS; Orlando Molina, executive vice president; Laura Mendoza, principal, Basic Education; Nenita Lucas, Institutional officer; Jeannette Fabian, dean, School of Allied Medical Science; and Ryan Tulio, VP, Operations. Manila Times College Executive Vice President Orlando B. Molina, in his opening remarks, emphasized the emergence of new innovations as the college relocates to its new facility. While bringing with it the best of its old practices and traditions, TMTCS will be continuously raising the bar of excellence in education, he said. Present at the ceremony were invited guests, school faculty, parents, students, including GDHS alumni, as well as industry partners. Some GDHS alumni — Nenita Miyata (Class of 1973), Dario Villa (1977) and Karen Fontillas (1989) — shared their individual memories of their former high school and expressed gratitude for the restoration being done on their old school and its integration with the Manila Times College.
