MANILA, Philippines – Hugpong ng Pagbabago (HNP) founder and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio lashed back at Otso Diretso senatorial candidates for continuously throwing “false statements” against President Rodrigo Duterte and pro-administration candidates.

The presidential daughter made the remark Wednesday after the opposition coalition Senate candidates lambasted their HNP rivals in a recent campaign sortie in Muntinlupa City.

During the said sortie, election lawyer Romulo Macalintal blamed the Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion (TRAIN) law and Senator Sonny Angara for the increase in prices of basic commodities.

He also reportedly criticized Senator Cynthia Villar and the Rice Tariffication Act.

Former Solicitor General Florin Hilbay, meanwhile, highlighted criticisms against Ilocos Norte Gov. Imee Marcos and her controversial academic records.

Angara, Villar and Marcos are all running under HNP banner and are also included in President Duterte’s own list of preferred senatorial candidates.

“Inaatake nila ang TRAIN law. Ang dami dami nilang sinasabi about the administration of President Duterte which are untrue. So, that also reflects on their honesty and credibility,” Duterte-Carpio told reporters after HNP’s campaign rally in Parañaque City.

The Davao City mayor also reiterated that Magdalo Rep. Gary Alejano, who is also running under the opposition coalition, was lying when he alleged  that state resources were used in administration bet Bong Go’s campaign.

“Ano gagawin natin sa kanila na they deliberately say false statements on stage about and against the administration of President Duterte. So lahat sila sinungaling. Lahat ng tao sa mundong ito, sinungaling,” she said.

(What will we do with them? They deliberately say false statements against the current administration.  They are all liars.  Everyone in the world is  a liar.)  / gsg
