2 soldiers dead, 1 wounded in Lanao Sur clash

TWO soldiers were killed and one was wounded following an encounter with the Islamic State (IS)-inspired Maute group in Pagayawan, Lanao del Sur on Monday.
Col. Romeo Brawner Jr., commander of the Philippine Army’s 103rd Infantry Brigade, confirmed that a fight broke out in Pagawayan town at 4:20 p.m.
A soldier was also wounded in the ongoing firefight.
Brawner also confirmed that Owayda Marohombsar alias Abu Dar and his men were present in the area. DEMPSEY REYES
