MANILA, Philippines — Manila Archbishop Luis Antonio Cardinal Tagle urged the clergy, religious communities, and heads of secular communities to pray for rain following the water shortage being experienced in Metro Manila.

“We are currently facing a crisis in water. Experts reported that we are experiencing a mild El Niño,” Tagle said in a statement issued on March 12.

“Our relief will come from nature. And so we implore the Master of all creation, God, our Father, at whose command the winds and the seas obey, to send us rain,” Tagle added.
