PBA: Petron faces McDavid

Petron-Letran goes for back-to-back victories when it battles McDavid in the PBA D-League at the Paco Arena in Manila.

The Knights of coach Bonnie Tan will bank on Alvin Pasaol, Larry Muyang and Jerrick Balanza when they tackle the winless McDavid side in the 2 p.m. opener.

The big-bodied Muyang starred in Petron’s 108-81 romp of AMA Online Education last March 5 when he produced 21 points.

Christian Fajarito and Jeo Ambohot are also expected to deliver key roles as Petron tries to go 2-1 in the Aspirants Group.

McDavis hopes to score an upset after starting the tournament with two straight losses.

Unbeaten College of St. Clare-Virtual Reality seeks its third straight victory against Batangas-Emilio Aguinaldo College in the second game at 4 p.m.

The Saints, mentored by Jinino Manansala, have surprised everyone by winning over the Go for Gold-St. Benilde Scratchers and Che’Lu Bar and Grill Revellers.

Joshua Fontanilla, Junjie Hallare and John Ambuludto lead St. Clare’s bid against the Generals.
