Duterte’s birthday wish: PH progress, prosperity

President Rodrigo Duterte wished for progress and prosperity for the Philippines as he celebrated his 74th birthday on Thursday.
During a small gathering with the Presidential Security Group and some aides at Matina Enclaves in Davao City on Wednesday night, Duterte expressed hope that the country would not be embroiled in any trouble with other nations.
“My wish? Well, that this government will prosper and huwag sana tayong magka-mali (may we not make wrong decisions),” the President said in a video taken by one of the staff of Matina Enclaves.
“My wish is that we will just continue to progress and prosper as a nation. Hindi tayo sasali diyan sa mga gulu-gulo sa ibang bayan (We will not join any rift among other countries),” he added.
Photos shared by his former special assistant, Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go, showed Duterte blowing on a cake resembling the Philippine flag.
In the same gathering, the President said he has no birthday plans, as he wanted to spend his special day with his family.
“I will go to my house. I will be sleeping all day,” he said.
