The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) on Friday warned motorists of heavy traffic in several areas in Metro Manila due to the closure of Sevilla Bridge and several roads for repairs.

Sevilla Bridge in San Juan City will be closed to vehicular traffic from 10 p.m. on Saturday to Sunday morning to make way for the transfer of barges for the San Juan River alignment project.

The closure is in relation to the Metro Manila Skyway Stage 3 project of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).

The DPWH also announced the closure of the south-bound lanes of C-5 road in front of Tiendesitas up to SM Center Pasig City, the first lane from the sidewalks of EDSA Ermin Garcia in New York Cubao and the truck lane of Katipunan Avenue after C.P. Garcia in Quezon City.

The north-bound lanes of C-5 road in front of SM Aura and Market Market in Taguig City; and the outer lane of EDSA 50 meters after Magallanes Metro Rail Transit Station to KM 29 in Makati city will also be closed for repairs.

The MMDA advised motorists traversing the affected areas to use alternate routes over the weekend until they open on Monday morning.
