‘Brownouts possible’ as alerts raised anew on Luzon grid

RED and yellow alerts are back up in the Luzon grid today, Thursday, the National Grid Corp. of the Philippines (NGCP) announced.

In its advisory, the country’s grid operator said the red alert started at 10 a.m. and would last until 4 p.m.

A yellow alert will be up from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Available capacity is at 10,761 MW while peak demand is at 10,607 MW.

“Details on the cause to be announced by the Department of Energy (DOE) later in the day” the NGCP said.
