JANET Lim-Napoles waived her right to be present during the trial of the graft cases which former Sen. Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. is facing, along with other individuals, including her in connection with the Priority Development Assistance Fund or pork barrel scam.

Napoles’ camp has filed a Waiver of Appearance before the Sandiganbayan’s First Division, saying that she “waives her appearance during the trial” under several conditions.

Among the conditions was “[t]hat she hereby waives her right to be present during the trial in the subject cases and the Court may, therefore, proceed with the trial even in my absence.”

Napoles also committed to appear before the court whenever it would require her to.

One other condition was “[t]hat every time her name is mentioned in the course of the trial, she agrees that said name pertains to her and that she will not dispute her identity with such name.” REINA C. TOLENTINO
