Pagasa: Intermittent rains, thunderstorms expected until Sunday

MANILA, Philippines — Metro Manila is expected to experience isolated thunderstorms from Good Friday until Easter Sunday, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Thursday.

Pagasa weather specialist Aldczar Aurelio said that despite the isolated thunderstorms, weather in Metro Manila will remain generally fair over the next three days.

Temperature range over the next three days in Metro Manila is from 25 degrees Celsius to 35 degrees Celsius.

Isolated thunderstorms are likewise expected in Baguio City, Legazpi City, Metro Cebu and Metro Davao.

No weather disturbances were monitored over the Pacific Ocean and within the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).

“Patuloy pa ring makakaranas ng maganda at maalinsangang panahon at may tsansa pa ring magkaroon ng mga isolated na pag-ulan dahil sa thunderstorm,”Aurelio said.

Meantime, several parts of the country experienced rain showers on Thursday afternoon.

At 7:15 p.m., Pagasa raised a thunderstorm advisory in Metro Manila, Tarlac, Nueva Ecija, and Bulacan.

The said areas are expected to experience isolated rain showers within the next one to two hours. /gsg
