Bahraini national lands in jail for threatening 3 people in a Makati restaurant

MANILA, Philippines — A Bahraini national was arrested after he threatened to kill three people at a restaurant in Makati City on afternoon of Good Friday.

Police identified the suspect as Yasser Abdullah Saleh Ahmed, 42, from Mandaluyong City.

In an initial report, a certain Leonora San Diego and two servers of the restaurant namely, Christine Joy San Diego and Jovel Jhon Galusong complained that the suspect barged into the Pasha Restaurant located at P. Burgos Street, Poblacion, Makati City.

Complainants said Ahmed began shouting with profane words and even threatened to kill them.

Rolly Licaros, security guard of the restaurant, arrested the suspect and brought him to the Makati police station.

Police Major Gideon Ines, assistant Makati City police chief, said upon investigation, Ahmed formerly served as an official in Bahrain’s military.

Reports did not mention why Ahmed, who is currently living in the Philippines with his Filipina wife and two children, expressed his anger at the three complainants.

Ahmed will be facing criminal charges for threat and unjust vexation. /jpv
