Rotational brownouts hit parts of Luzon

PARTS of Luzon experienced rotational brownouts on Wednesday as demand exceeded supply.

Manila Electric Co. (Meralco) spokesman Joe Zaldarriaga said manual load dropping or the “process of cutting off power in areas served at a specific time due to power supply shortage” (MLD) started at 1:35 p.m.

In its advisory, Meralco said the affected areas were:

Parts of Quezon City, Manila, Las Piñas, Muntinlupa, Parañaque

Laguna – Los Baños, San Pablo, Liliw, Magdalena, Sta Cruz, Cabuyao, Sta. Rosa

Quezon province – Tiaong, Candelaria, Dolores, San Antonio, Mauban, Sampaloc, Tayabas

Parts of Batangas and Pampanga

Meralco said the brownouts are expected to last until 10 p.m.
