Magnitude 5.3 quake rocks Surigao Del Norte — Phivolcs

A magnitude 5.3 hit Surigao del Norte on Friday , the Philippines Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
The tectonic quake at 1:26 p.m. was recorded 71 kilometers southeast of General Luna, with a depth of 9 kilometers.
Phivolcs is still verifying intensities as of posting time. Aftershocks are expected.
Phivolcs Research Specialist Dante Soneja said it was not related to the Magnitude 6 earthquakes in Zambales and Eastern Samar on Monday and Tuesday. DIVINA D. DELA CRUZ
