RITA Daniela is thankful to have been paired with Ken Chan on the now defunct hit TV series “My Special Tatay” admitting it has opened a lot of doors for her.

“A lot of people knew me before primarily as singer. I mean, I’ve done a lot of TV shows, films, pero iba ang impact ng ‘My Special Tatay.’ Nakakatuwa nga kasi a lot of people recognize me now calling me Aubrey (her show characters’ name), it shows lang how much an impact our characters had on their lives,” she says.

Suffice it to say she is more than ready to work with Ken again.

Rita explains, “We work well together. My performance as Aubrey wouldn’t have been as effective if it weren’t for Ken doing a good job as Boyet. He is so generous as co-actor. He lets you shine. He also believes in team effort. I would not think twice being paired with him again in any project.”

Ken shares the same feeling.

He says, “Rita is a very good actress, very passionate. Sinasabi niya marami siyang natutunan sa akin pero sa totoo lang, marami din akong natutunan sa kanya. And I thank her for that. Maganda ang team-up naming, tulungan. I think, ‘yun talaga ang naging daan kung bakit naging maganda ang kinalabasan ng tandem namin sa ‘My Special Tatay.’”

A GMA insider told us there are already plans for the two being paired again on a show and soon but they’d rather not pre-empt it.

When told about it, the two lit up.

Rita exclaims, “Go! Ako, I’m ready for anything with Ken on it. I just know I would do a good job with him around.”

“Ako din, ready ako diyan,” Ken interjects. “Actually, medyo bitin para sa akin ‘yung time na pinagsamahan namin sa ‘My Special Tatay.’ So, masaya kung merong part two.”

Rita and Ken will have a special concert on May 11 at the Music Museum dubbed “My Special Love #BoBreyinConcert.” According to Rita, it is their way of saying thanks to their hordes of supporters.

“We will have a lot of beautifully-choreographed numbers in the show,” she says. “There will be a lot of singing and dancing. Masaya.”

Ken shares , “Sa concer t , ikukwento naming kung paano naming narating ‘yung mga pangarap namin sa buhay through songs. Maraming throwback na mangyayari.”

Rita adds, “At may mga special guests din kami, marami! I’m really excited for it kasi isa doon ay bata na may autism at intellectual disability. This is important because they are a big part of ‘My Special Tatay.’ Whatever success we are enjoying now, they’re part of it so dapat kasama rin sila sa concert.” (NEIL RAMOS)
