Magnitude 5.8 quake strikes Ilocos Norte–Phivolcs

A magnitude 5.8 earthquake struck Ilocos Norte on Monday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
The epicenter of the quake at 10:48 a.m. was in Pagudpud, about 6.8 kilometers from Laoag City, Phivolcs said.
The quake was tectonic in origin.
Intensity 5 was felt in Claveria, Pangasinan; Intensity 4 in Pasuquin, Ilocos Norte; and Intensity 3 in Sinait and Vigan, Ilocos Norte.
Philvocs said aftershocks were expected.
