Man nabbed for marijuana found in his pocket during inspection at LRT-2

MANILA, Philippines — A passenger of the Light Rail Transit-2 (LRT-2) was arrested over the weekend as he was caught with dried marijuana during a routine inspection at a train station.

 

A report from the Quezon City Police District showed 21-year-old Joseph Regaro yielded a ziplock plastic containing dried marijuana leaves during a routine inspection of passengers at the south entrance of the LRT-2 Gateway Station around 2:18 p.m. Sunday.

The illegal substance was found in the front pocket of Regaro’s sweat shirt, police noted.

 

Security guard Roberto Hagoot subsequently sought assistance from the personnel of Cubao Police Station and Regional Mobile Force Battalion.

 

Regaro was taken into custody by the Cubao Police Station and was charged in violation of Republic Act 9165 or The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. /kga
