Words of praise continue to pour in for Jerwin Ancajas, who was mesmerizing in his seventh and mandatory defense of the International Boxing Federation (IBF) super-flyweight crown over the weekend in Stockton, California.

“Jerwin was awesome in Stockton,” exclaimed publicist Lee Samuels, who will be a part of the Class of 2019 of the International Boxing Hall of Fame.

Samuels will be the fifth from the Las Vegas-based Top Rank to earn an induction in boxing’s biggest awarding stage after promoter Bob Arum, matchmakers Bruce Trampler and Teddy Brenner and fellow publicist Irving Rudd.

Ancajas handed the Japanese challenger a nasty beating before more than 10,000 fans at the Stockton Arena, a victory that will line him up for a ring return by September, according to Arum.

Ancajas showcased his winning ways anew after back-to-back so-so performances in 2018 by forcing referee Ed Collantes to stop the fight upon the advice of ring doctor Gary Furness.

The Filipino community was ecstatic with Ancajas’ devastating display of punching prowess that longtime resident Toti Quijano likened Ancajas’ right hook to that of Manny Pacquiao.
