Acting on a tip from a “concerned citizen,” police went to the village hall of San Isidro where they caught the suspects at 10:45 p.m. on Saturday.

Fifty-two others, mostly senior citizens, were also arrested for allegedly selling votes for incumbent Mayor Abigail Binay, who is seeking re-election.

The arrested individuals would be charged with violating Section 261 of the Omnibus Election Code, which includes buying and selling of votes and intervention by public officials and employees.

Confiscated were 820 pieces of P500 bills amounting to P410,000; 19 assorted identification cards; 10 different units of cellphones; list of voters with their addresses and respective voting precincts; and two boxes of “Ulat sa Bayan” leaflets of the incumbent mayor.

The suspects were brought to the NCRPO headquarters for proper disposition.
