ATENEO De Manila University forced a winner-take-all match after trouncing University of Sto. Tomas (UST), 26-24, 14-25, 25-21, 25-15, in Game 2 of Season 81 University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) women’s volleyball finals on Wednesday at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
The Lady Eagles kept their hopes of ending a four-year title drought alive as they bounced back from a 17-25, 16-25, 20-25 sweep in the best-of-three championship series opener.
Ateneo last won the women’s volleyball crown in Season 77 when it achieved a 16-game tournament sweep.
Game 3 is on Saturday at the same venue.
