ONE Championship returns to the Singapore Indoor Stadium for the massive ONE: ENTER THE DRAGON card on Friday, 17 May.

While there aren’t a lot of Filipino athletes in the card, it’s still something that will spark interest among local viewers — especially with how the card was stacked from preliminaries to the main card.

Shinya Aoki will be defending his ONE Lightweight World Championship against Christian Lee in the main event of the 16-bout spectacle.

But there’s more to the card than its main event. Here are three reasons why the local fans need to tune-in to the card.

A ‘Different’ Geje Eustaquio

Former ONE Flyweight World Champion Geje “Gravity” Eustaquio returns to the ONE Circle when he takes on South Korean Kim Kyu Sung in one of the featured bouts of the night.

It will be Eustaquio’s first appearance since losing the ONE Flyweight World Title to Adriano “Mikinho” Moraes last January and now, he is more dangerous than ever.

Eustaquio’s teammates have noted a difference in his approach entering this affair, claiming that the diminutive flyweight is more driven than ever.

Will it result to a win against the towering Kim? That can only be answered on Friday.

Richard Corminal (ONE Championship)

Richard Corminal’s Payoff

For years, Richard “Notorious” Corminal has struggled since joining ONE back in 2016.

It has been a rough road for the Malaysia-based Filipino as he has lost all three bouts in The Home Of Martial Arts against top competition.

Now he’ll get his shot at vindication when he takes on Rahul Raju, who is also looking for his first victory in ONE.

With all the sacrifices that he has made, Corminal is bent on finally getting his payoff for his family.

The World’s Best Strikers Under One Roof

Aside from the local warriors on the card, Filipino fans will also enjoy watching the quarterfinals of the ONE Featherweight Kickboxing World Grand Prix.

The biggest names in kickboxing will be competing in the tournament, including Yodsanklai IWE Fairtex and Giorgio Petrosyan.

Not only that, but the co-main event will also feature a battle between two World Champions in kickboxing as Nieky Holzken takes on Regian Eersel for the inaugural ONE Lightweight Kickboxing World Title.

With a stacked card and a notable local name in it, ONE: ENTER THE DRAGON is certainly a must see event this Friday.
