The Anti-Crime and Terrorism Community Involvement and Support party-list group further widened its lead from rival partylists based on the partial and official tally of the Commission on Elections sitting as the National Board of Canvassers Friday.

The ACT-CIS, which got the backing of Special Envoy to China Ramon Tulfo, a known ally of President Duterte, garnered 2,487,362 votes after the canvassing of 146 Certificates of Canvass as of 7:16 p.m.

From third on Thursday, Bayan Muna partylist, a vocal critic of Duterte, reclaimed the second spot with 1,065,833 votes.

ACT-CIS has a comfortable 1,421,529-vote lead over Bayan Muna.

Slipping to third was Ako Bicol partylist with 1,038,006, followed by Cibac party-list with 896,571 and Ang Probinsyano partylist.

The fifth day of canvassing resumed yesterday with 21 remaining CoCs out of the total 167 yet to be canvassed.
Comelec spokesperson James Jimenez said the proclamation of winning candidates may happen today.

“As a heads up, it’s a reasonable window but not yet confirmed,” Jimenez said. “No formal invitation has been issued yet. There are still some matters that need to be settled,” he said. (Martin Sadongdong)
