Ateneo bags UAAP title

Ateneo delivered a virtuoso of a performance and pummeled University of Santo Tomas, 25-17, 25-22, 25-22, to win the UAAP women’s volleyball title before an enthralled crowd of 21,347 Saturday at the Mall of Asia Arena.
On a day they hardly made a mistake, the Lady Eagles dominated the Tigresses in almost all facets of the game to finally end three years of title drought.

While the Lady Eagles were sharp on offense, they were rock-solid on the defensive end, coming through with huge blocks.
In several instances, they caught the Tigresses flat-footed with clever drop shots.
The demand for tickets was so high that the best seats went as high as P20,000.
Taking advantage of the situation, scalpers asked fans to bid for Patron tickets which started at P15,000. The regular price is only P300.
Two hours before the match, fans are still looking for available tickets that got it trending on Twitter with the hashtag #UAAPtickets.
Ateneo and UST have already sold their allocated tickets to their students and supporters, as well as SM malls with fans waiting for three to four hours.
