Sen. Cynthia A. Villar remains the richest of the 23 incumbent senators, declaring a net worth of P3.719 billion in 2018.

Based on the summary of the senators’ Statement of Assets, Liabilities, and Net Worth published in the Senate website www.senate.gov.ph, Villar’s assets rose from P3.611 billion in 2017 to P3.719 billion in 2018. She listed no liabilities.

Following her was boxing champion Sen. Manny Pacquiao with a net worth of P3.006 billion. He declared P3.153 billion in assets but had P142 million in liabilities.

Pacquiao’s net worth increased from P2.946 billion in 2017 to P3.006 billion last year. He has consistently been the second richest senator in the 17th Congress.

Senate President Pro Tempore Ralph Recto is still the third richest member of the Senate with a declared net worth of P555.3 million. He listed assets worth P645.1 million and liabilities worth P89.82 million.

In 2017, he declared a net worth of P538.889 million.

In fourth place was Senate Majority Leader Juan Miguel Zubiri who declared a net worth of P182.9 million last year from P152.1 million in 2017.

After Zubiri was Sen. Juan Edgardo “Sonny” Angara with a net worth of P135.8 million in 2018 from P131.8 million in 2017.

Sixth richest is Sen. Joseph Victor Ejercito who declared a 2018 net worth of P132.8 million from P78.95 million in 2017.

Senate Minority Floor Leader Franklin Drilon is seventh with a 2018 net worth of P97.73 million from P93.727 million in 2017; Sen. Sherwin Gatchalian, eighth, P96.21 million in 2018 from P88.23 million in 2017; Sen. Grace Poe, ninth, P93.04 million in 2018 from P90.68 million in 2017; and Sen. Richard Gordon, 10th, P71.29 million in 2018 from P69.51 million in 2017.

Senate President Vicente Sotto III remained in 11th place with a declared 2018 net worth of P70.12 million from P64.73 million two years ago.

Following the Senate leader were Sen. Nancy Binay with P60.13 million in 2018 from P60.61 million in 2017; Sen. Loren Legarda with P56.29 million (from P51.317 million); Sen. Paolo Benigno “Bam” Aquino IV with P45.21 million (from P39.193 million); and Sen. Panfilo Lacson with P42.44 million (from P36.31 million).

Sen. Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel III was also wealthier in 2018 with a net worth of P28.66 million with no liabilities from the previous year’s P18.11 million.

Sen. Joel Villanueva is 17th after declaring a net worth of P26.92 million in 2018 from P23.73 million in 2017.

Sen. Gregorio B. Honasan II had a 2018 net worth of P25.88 million from P25.24 million in 2017 while Sen. Francis Pangilinan had about P16.70 million from P13.47 million, and Sen. Risa Hontiveros had P15.63 million from P16.197 million.

Sen. Francis Escudero is 21st with a net worth of P10.56 million in 2018 from P8.5 million in 2017. Detained Sen. Leila de Lima declared a net worth of P7.7 million in 2018 from P7.99 million in 2017.
