Woman dead, another hurt in Isabela road crash

NAGUILIAN, Isabela–A 30-year-old driver died on the spot while her back rider was in critical condition after the motorcycle they were riding skidded in a curved portion of the road here on Saturday evening, police said.
Killed was Jovilyn Balacanao of Cubag village in Cabagan town while injured was her back rider, Daniel Mabbagu, 21, of the same village.
Police said Balacanao and her companion were on their way home when they were thrown off the motorcycle while negotiating a curve in Barangay San Manuel at about 10:10 p.m.
Balacanao’s head hit the concrete road and died instantly while Mabbagu sustained fractures. (Editor: Jonathan P. Vicente)
