Centro Escolar University and Cignal-Ateneo go for the sweep of their respective semifinal series today in the PBA D-League at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.

CEU tries to finish off St. Clare-Virtual Reality at 4 p.m. and continue its amazing run despite having to play seven of eight uniformed players after several of the team’s top players were expelled for game-fixing allegations.

Aiming to gain the first slot in the best-of-five finals is Cignal-Ateneo which seeks to repeat over City of Valencia-San Sebastian in the opener slated at 2 p.m.

Both teams posted contrasting victories in Monday’s semis opener at the Paco Arena in Manila to edge closer toward arranging a title showdown.

Rich Guinitaran’s go-ahead layup and Maodo Malick Diouf’s record-setting 33 rebounds enabled CEU to survive St. Clare, 76-75, while Cignal intensified its defense in the third quarter to dismantle Valencia, 105-67. (Jonas Terrado)
