La Salle Greenhills held multi-titled National University to just 10 points in the second quarter and romped to a 99-72 win in the final of the 15-under division of the 6th Headstart Developmental League presented by AXA Team EDS Thursday at the SGS gym on Araneta Avenue, Quezon City.

Javier Luis Jugo presided over the Greenies’ explosive show in the second that also saw them erupt for 31 points giving them a huge 53-28 halftime lead which they gallantly protected to avenge the narrow defeat last time.

Jugo led all scorers in the event also supported by Freego Jeans with 23 points spiked by four triples while CJ Mesias adding 18 while Ethan Alian and Sevenn Gagate combined for 30 points.

It was a day of reversals as Octagon Tires stunned La Salle, 62-60, in the 12-U division – thanks to a huge four-quarter performance

Octagon fell behind by 16 points in the first half but rallied furiously in the next two frames where they outscored the Greenies, 23-13, in the pivotal fourth period.

TJ delos Santos and Daryl Valdeavila scored 16 points each to lead Octagon which also drew significant numbers from Chadrik Timbol and Renzo Sandigan.

The champions and members of the Mythical First Five in both divisions received trophies and medals from Tournament Director Willy Chan.
