Jomary “The Zamboanginian Fighter” Torres has been on a slump as of late, but she is far from discouraged.

In fact, she’s even more determined now.

Torres will get her chance to end that slide when she takes on dangerous Malaysian sensation Jihin “Shadow Cat” Radzuan in a three-round atomweight affair at ONE: MASTERS OF DESTINY which emanates from the Axiata Arena in Kuala, Lumpur, Malaysia on 12 July.

“I am determined to be even better in martial arts and that’s why I make sure to work on the things that could help me,” said Torres.

“I know I’ve been losing but this won’t stop my dedication and belief in myself.”

After dropping her third consecutive match with a submission loss to Lin “Fighting Sister” Heqin in ONE: REIGN OF VALOR, Torres quickly returned to the drawing board to end this alarming skid.

She joined her head coach Rene Catalan in Indonesia to re-align her focus and work on some gaping holes in her game.

That’s why Torres is confident that she’ll have a much better outing this time around.

“I am so grateful that I was given another chance to fight. I had many mistakes in my last fight and I want to bounce back and improve my game more,” said Torres.

“I’ve made a lot of adjustments and I’ve prepared well. I am excited to show my improvements in Malaysia.”

While confident, Torres understands that this is far from a walk in the park for her as Radzuan presents a tough challenge.

Radzuan is currently 4-1 and is also eager to bounce back after losing to Team Lakay’s Gina Iniong at ONE: CLASH OF LEGENDS last February.

“I know that she’s a strong fighter and that she’s hungry for a win but I will do everything so I can keep up with whatever she’ll throw in our fight,” said Torres.

“I am working triple time during training sessions and I feel like I am a much better fighter today, I am much more confident in my game.”
