Youth groups slam Chinese intervention in PH policies

Youth groups gathered on Tuesday in front of the Chinese Consulate in Makati City to protest China’s intervention in Philippine economy and foreign policies.
Youth Resist convenor Bas Claudio said young Filipinos would not let China bully the country into submission.
“With China continuing its occpation of the West Philippine Sea, we encourage the youth to denounce the shameless disrespect of our sovereign rights,” Claudio said during the protest.
The groups, comprised of Youth Resist, Akbayan Youth and the Student Council Alliance of the Philippines, also demanded for the end of Chinese occupation in the West Philippine Sea.
