Police seized Sunday around P3.4 million worth of shabu from a couple in a buy-bust operation in Pasig City.

Quezon City Police District director Brigadier General Joselito Esquivel Jr. identified the suspects as Mark Kim Cudia, 28, and his live-in partner Patricia Jane Dayta, 19.

Members of Quezon City Police District Station 7, Eastern Police District Drugs Enforcement Unit and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency nabbed the duo at the corner of Kaginhawaan and Kaagapay Streets in Barangay Manggahan at around 5:20 a.m.

Esquivel said the sting was an offshoot to an earlier operation in Barangay Kaunlaran, Cubao, Quezon City, on Saturday night where Joy Cabacungan, 37; and Reynaldo Apostol, 33, were arrested. They tagged Cudia as their source of illegal drugs.

He added that Cudia, a member of “Bahala Na” gang, was previously arrested for drug-related charges in 2017 but was released in November 2018 through a plea bargain.

Recovered from the suspects were about 500 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of P3,400,000; a motorcyle and the P20,500 marked money.

They are now detained and will be charged with violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, police said. (Jhon Aldrin Casinas)
