MANILA, Philippines — A rookie cop showed that indeed, “Honesty is the best policy,” as he returned the P20,000-cash he found on Buenavista National Highway in Agusan del Norte.

Agusan del Norte Police Provincial Office Patrolman Ferdinand Rambo Aparecio was on his way home when he found the bundles of cash on the road last Tuesday.

“After exhausting my best efforts to identify the rightful owner, I opted to turn-over the cash to the headquarters of Police Regional Office (PRO) 13,” Aparecio reportedly said.

Philippine National Police Caraga Region Director General Gilberto Cruz commended Aparecio for his act.
