On his first day in office, Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto assured non-permanent employees that they will not be removed from their posts.

“Lahat ng contractual, lahat ng job order at casual, wala po tayong tatanggalin,” Sotto told city hall employees in his short speech after the flag ceremony on rainy Monday morning.

The new mayor, however, asked for their cooperation as he officially began his term as the city’s local chief executive.

Present during the weekly activity were Congressman Roman Romulo, Vice Mayor Iyo Caruncho Bernardo, city councilors, government employees, among others.

Sotto said that he prepared a different speech but he had to set it aside for the rain may again pour down.

Also, Sotto has asked for patience for it will not be a walk in the park when in the process of transitioning from one administration to another.

Sotto took his oath of office, flanked by his parents — show business icons Vic Sotto and Coney Reyes — on Sunday noon before Commission on Audit chairperson Michael Aguinaldo.  (Jhon Casinas)
