“We had a strong start but we struggled in the second and third sets. Good thing was, the girls hung tough and completed those comebacks,” said head coach Sherwin Meneses, looking forward to another out-of-town match against Cignal this Thursday in Silay City.

“It was good to notch our third straight win. We’re already improving so we just hope we could sustain it against Cignal.”

Fiola Ceballos finished with 10 points on 10 kills while team captain Angeli Araneta and Patty Orendain chipped in nine and eight points, respectively, for a well-balanced Generika attack.

Libero Kath Arado was also instrumental with 18 excellent digs and five excellent receptions while Jamie Isabelle Lavitoria set the pace with 15 excellent sets.

After a rousing 25-12 start, Generika-Ayala struggled in the second set, trailing by 19-22 before closing Sta. Lucia out with a massive 6-1 run.

The Lifesavers again trailed, 15-19, before hammering a 28-26 victory to complete a three-set triumph.
