Seeing how his teammates prepare, former ONE Flyweight World Champion Geje “Gravity” Eustaquio has no doubt that Team Lakay will come away with a sweep in Manila.

Former ONE Lightweight World Champion Eduard “Landslide” Folayang, Former ONE Featherweight kingpin Honorio “The Rock” Banario, former world title contender Danny “The King” Kingad and hard-hitting featherweight Edward “The Ferocious” Kelly are set to fly the country’s flag high at ONE: DAWN OF HEROES which emanates from the Mall of Asia Arena on 2 August.

Eustaquio, who has been helping the quartet in their preparations, believes that their hard work and dedication will be enough to tow them to huge victories

“This is one of the toughest competition we have. Big names and their opponents really won’t back down,” said Eustaquio.

“We enjoy training and we are considering every single detail this time. Coach Mark is very keen on the preparations. He makes sure everyone is healthy and making the right development. The four men are getting excited and hungrier as the competition is about to come.”

“It’s our culture in Team Lakay to sharpen each and every one. Common for us to make each other a champion.”

Eustaquio, who won his previous bout in ONE: ENTER THE DRAGON last April, thinks that his teammates’ motivation to win in Manila will play a big role in their respective bouts.

For years, the Philippines have been on the rise in the sport of mixed martial arts. A sweep here would cement the country’s presence in the sport, not only in Asia but in the rest of the world.

“This is a defining moment for them. I believe they won’t waste this chance. They will come with a complete arsenal and determined to get the victory,” said Eustaquio.

“We Filipinos are known to be hard workers and dream catchers. They will make us all proud.”

Asked to make a prediction, Eustaquio did not have any second thoughts.

“Indeed, 4-0.”
