MANILA, Philippines — Several landline users of telco giant PLDT  Inc. in Pasong Tamo area in Makati City have reportedly not been able to use the service  — for some, the problem has persisted for two days now.

The affected users included several tenants of buildings located along Chino Roces Avenue in Pasong Tamo, Makati City.

The affected users claimed that they have not been able to use PLDT’s landline services since Monday and have tried to call the telco’s customer service.

“Lahat ng tenant namin tumawag pero hindi makaget-through… The entire street of Chino Roces. Yung front, left, right side namin wala lahat kami walang landline,” said Noemi Santiago, who serves as administrator of Molave Building, one of the affected buildings in the area.

While they were assured that the problem would be checked and fixed, the problem still persists as of posting time.

“May mga tenant kami na may Globe line, tumawag sila sa customer service [nung Monday and Tuesday]. Sabi daw pupuntahan at iche-check kasi wala naman daw problema… walang dumadating, hanggang ngayon wala,” Santiago said.

PLDT spokesperson Ramon Isberto, however, said “no major outage” were reported in the area.

Isberto explained that while the problem may be with the individual accounts, he said that they will also be checking the lines serving the area where the affected users are located to see if the problem lies with the lines.

“A speculative answer [regarding the problem] — it could mean that it’s the line serving that particular area. Kasi there are several buildings involved so hindi lang isa isang building. In short, it’s not just the line serving a particular building, it’s the line serving several buildings so we have to check,” Isberto said.

As per the delayed response to the issue, Isberto said they would have to trace the complaints made to their office.

“We’re going to follow up on it and trace the problem so we can resolve it as quickly as possible,” Isberto said. (Editor: Mike U. Frialde)
