BATANGAS CITY – Celebrity baller Derek Ramsay played his first MPBL game late Thursday night and rocked the Batangas City Coliseum as the Tanduay-backed Athletics came away with an 80-67 win over the Caloocan Supremos-Victory Liner,
Ramsay scored a bucket in the early part of the fourth quarter, beating his man off a backdoor cut to send the crowd into frenzied celebration.
But Ramsay’s basket was one among the many highlights in the Athletics’ third win in four matches.

Also winning Thursday were Bicol and San Juan, two of the hottest teams in the tournament.
The Knights made short work of expansion team SOCCSKSARGEN, 100-77, while Bicol nipped Valenzuela in overtime, 90-81.
