Isko urges fast food chains to hire senior citizens, PWDs

Manila Mayor Isko Moreno has instructed one of his officials to encourage fast food chains in the city to employ senior citizens and persons with disabilities (PWDs).
“To all senior citizens here, start working out,” the Mayor said after signing an ordinance granting a P500 monthly allowance to senior citizens and PWDs.
Domagoso said this would allow senior citizens who are still capable of working to have their own earnings.
“I already asked German Bermejo to ask Jollibee, McDonalds and all fast food chains to employ senior citizens including PWDs,” he said.
Bermejo is the head of the Public Employment Services Office (PESO) of the local government of Manila.
“If Americans can do it, if Singaporeans can do it, if Japanese can do it, why not Manileños?” he said. (Erma Edera)
