Hazchem dominated fellow newcomer Nailtalk, 98-78, in the PBA D-League Foundation Cup at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.

Raymark Matias had 24 points, 14 rebounds and six assists while Marvin Morraga added 11 points, six assists and three steals as the Green Warriors began their maiden campaign in the PBA’s developmental tournament on a winning note.

Matias scored 16 points in the first half to help Hazchem take control of the contest.

The Green Warriors joined Asia’s Lashes Tomas Morato in the early lead in Group A of the 14-team second conference.

Normel delos Reyes scored 19 points and ex-University of the East cager RR de Leon added 15 points and seven rebounds but Nailtalk turned the ball over 22 times, allowing Hazchem to convert those into 35 points.

Nailtalk got to within eight, 80-72, on Jasper Boac’s basket with 6:20 remaining in the fourth quarter.

But Hazchem ended the contest by outscoring Nailtalk, 18-6, behind Matias, Morraga and former Big Chill guard Jervy Glorioso.
