Parañaque, Pasay in joint clean-up of Baclaran

THE Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) on Tuesday morning started clean-up operations in Baclaran, Parañaque City.
MMDA Chairman Danilo Lim and MMDA general manager Jojo Garcia, together with Pasay Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano and Parañaque Mayor Edwin Olivarez led the clean-up.
“Nagkakaisa lahat ng mayors natin under the lead role of Department of Interior and Local Governement (DILG) at kasama ang MMDA, talagang ipapatupad natin ‘yan at aaraw-arawin natin yan (All mayors are united under the DILG and MMDA. We will enforce the Memorandum Circular (MC) and we will do it everyday),” said Lim.
In compliance with President Rodrigo Duterte’s call to reclaim public roads during his 4th State of the Nation Address, the DILG on Monday officially issued the order giving all mayors 60 days to clean up public roads from obstructions.
“Hindi kami anti-vendor inaayos lang natin, tinatama lang namin, nililinis natin kasi nga yung common good para madaan ng mga motorista (We are not anti-vendor, we will just clean up so that motorists can pass through),” said Garcia. JAN ARCILLA
