Police are seeking witnesses in a fatal crash in Kelowna that killed a Burnaby man on Tuesday morning.

Around 12:45 a.m. Tuesday, Kelowna RCMP were called to the intersection of Harvey Avenue and Cooper Road for the report of a two-car collision.

On arrival, officers found an eastbound Cadillac SUV that had collided with a northbound Honda Accord. The driver of the Honda, a 30-year-old man from Burnaby, was taken to hospital but later died. The driver of the Cadillac sustained minor injuries.

Collision investigators were on scene throughout the morning gathering details but have since reopened the intersection. Drugs and alcohol have been ruled out in the cause.

Investigators are seeking witnesses and any surveillance footage available that can help determine the circumstances leading up to the crash. Police are particularly interested in speaking with a woman who identified herself as a witness to paramedics at the scene but who has not spoken to RCMP yet.

Anyone with information can contact police at 250-768-2880.
