Abbotsford police search for Taiwanese tourist missing since July

Abbotsford police is asking the public for help in finding a Taiwanese tourist who has been missing since last month.

Ci Hong Liao was last seen July 4 entering his hotel room at the Best Western in Abbotsford.

Ci Hong Liao, who was in Canada as part of a Taiwanese tour group, was last seen at 11:45 p.m. on July 4 entering his hotel room at the Best Western located at 32110 Marshall Road in Abbotsford.

When the tour’s guide entered the room the next morning, he discovered Liao, along with his luggage and belongings, was gone.

Abbotsford police say the 31-year-old Liao speaks English but he has no known connections in Metro Vancouver.

He is described as being 5-feet-7, 150 pounds with short black hair. He was last seen wearing a thin blue jacket and either blue or black pants.

Citizenship and Immigration Canada, Canada Border Services Agency, B.C. Missing Person Centre and the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office are assisting in the investigation.
