A man was found fatally wounded inside a home on Friday night in Kelly Lake, a remote community near the Alberta border.

RCMP North District media spokesperson Cpl. Madonna Saunderson said police were called the home south of Dawson Creek at 7:40 p.m. Aug. 16 with reports of an assault.

“Upon arrival, police located a 54-year-old man who was fatally wounded. A 24-year-old man was arrested at the scene without incident,” Saunderson said in a prepared statement.

Morgen Lambert-Bouma, 24, has been charged with second degree murder and remains in custody. He was due to appear in Dawson Creek Provincial Court on Monday.

Both men were known to each other.
