The World Boxing Organization (WBO) has instructed the camps of South African Zolani Tete and John Riel Casimero to kickstart negotiations for their bantamweight title fight that should happen not later than Nov. 23 of this year.

Luis Batista Salas, the chairman of the WBO Championship Committee, has furnished a letter to the promoters of the two fighters: Queensberry Promotions (Tete) and MP Promotions (Casimero).

Salas, in a letter dated Aug. 26, said the parties involved have until ten days to reach an agreement and should they fail to come up with one, a purse bidding will be ordered and it will start at $100,000.

Casimero is fresh from scoring a tenth-round stoppage of Cesar Ramirez of Mexico in their battle for the interim bantam crown and immediately after the victory, Manny Pacquiao, through, his right-hand man Sean Gibbons, expressed the desire to take part in the negotiations and purse bid.

If MP Promotions wins, the fight will likely end up in the US with Al Haymon’s Premier Boxing Champions lending a hand in staging the mouthwatering matchup.

Frank Warren owns Queensberry Promotions and is determined as well to bring the fight to England.

Tete was allowed to remain as champion after sustaining an injury and the WBO agreed to install Casimero as the interim titleholder.

Now that Tete has recovered, the time is up for him to defend the 118-lb plum.
